Day 1

A trip to the ancient capital of Georgia - the city of Mtskheta, which is a holy and cult place for every Georgian. The city was founded in the second half of the I millennium BC. That is, almost simultaneously with the creation on the territory of Georgia of the Eastern Georgian kingdom - Kartli (Iveria), whose capital was Mtskheta.

Visit the monastery of Jvari. The Jvari temple ("the temple of the Holy Cross"), built in the VI century, stands on a high mountain, from where a beautiful panorama of the merging of two majestic rivers - Aragva and Kura - opens. According to legend, on this very mountain the cross of the holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Nino was erected. Jvari is the first monument of World Heritage in Georgia.

 Next Inspection of the Cathedral of Svetitskhoveli. According to tradition, the Cathedral, illuminated in honor of the Twelve Apostles, was erected at the burial place of the Chiton of Jesus Christ. In Svetitskhoveli, as in the main temple of Georgia, the coronation and wedding of the Georgian kings took place. In the church there are many paintings dating back to the 16th-18th centuries, some of which were restored in the 19th century.

Nowadays, the city is a quiet charm of sun-drenched curves, the streets of Tbilisi, the terraces of houses covered with vines, ancient churches with tiled domes, the ruins of ancient monasteries, traditional Georgian courtyards with bizarre carved verandas - it is impossible to resist this landscape

A walking tour of the historic part of the city will begin with a visit to the Metekhi Temple, which is one of the most famous monuments in Tbilisi. This temple was erected in the 13th century. Near the edge of the stony bank of the Kura and formerly a fortress and residence of Georgian kings. Under the vaults of the Metekhi temple, the first Georgian martyr, Queen Shushanik Ranskaya, was buried.

Then you go up the cable car to the Narikala fortress, which is the most ancient monument, a kind of "soul and heart of the city". The date of construction of the fortress is called approximately IV century AD, that is, it stands, in fact, with the founding of the city itself. In the future, the fortress was expanded several times and completed. After visiting the fortress, you will walk along Rick Park and Peace Bridge. The glass pedestrian bridge of the World on the Mtkvari River connects the Old Town and modern Tbilisi - from here you can see an excellent panorama of many city sights. Wave-shaped construction, 156 m long, was designed by the Italian architect Michel de Lucci in cooperation with the French lighting engineer Philippe Martino.

In the evening, the bridge is illuminated by iridescent lights with different colors - there are about 30 thousand of them. An interactive light system on two parapets of the bridge of the World with the help of the Morse code every hour depicts one of the elements of the periodic table that is in the human body. The main idea of ​​installation is that all people are one.

Next Inspection of the Tbilisi sulfur baths, which are built in the style of classical eastern architecture. These are low, squat buildings, on top covered with semicircular domes with large glass holes in the center, serving as windows that illuminate the interior, as the baths themselves are below ground level. In the old days people here not only washed themselves, but also communicated, sitting up till dawn, and city matchmakers arranged special shows on special days. The baths were given lunches, concluded trade transactions.

Next Visit to the Cathedral of Sion - historically the main temple of Tbilisi, named after the Zion mountain and consecrated in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. It is located on the bank of the river Kura in Old Tbilisi. It was built by the order of the Byzantine nobleman Guram I in the 6th century, but was destroyed by the Arabs. In the 12th century. David IV the Builder erected here a new temple, which has since been repeatedly damaged and rebuilt.

Inspection of the Anchiskhat Basilica - The oldest stone church of St. Mary, built under the heir of Vakhtang Gorgasali - Dachi Ujarmeli in the 6th century, has survived and still functions in the Old Town.

Day3. Tbilisi - Bodbe-Signagi-Kvareli-Telavi

Arrival in Signagi. Walk around the city, surrounded by a fortress wall, erected in the 17-18 centuries. The city offers an unrivaled view of the Alazani Valley and the Caucasian Range.

Visit to a family wine cellar. You will visit the ancient wine cellar and get acquainted with the traditional technology of Georgian wine making.

 Then visit the church of Kvelatsmind (9-17 cc) in Gurjaani. The town of Gurjaani near Telavi is famous for its unique monument of medieval Georgian architecture - the church of Kvelatsminda - the only two-domed church in Georgia. She looks rather modest. A gray stone temple with a cross-shaped facade and rectangular in plan. In the middle of the temple, directly from the roof, two small square turrets, covered with umbrella domes, rise absolutely symmetrically. The only entrance to the church - a small door in the archway - is located with a cross-shaped facade and raised quite high above the ground. Even without exterior decoration, the temple looks very impressive, as it practically retains its original appearance, bears in itself the spirit of deep antiquity.

Day4. Telavi-Tsinandali-Alaverdi-Gremi-Tbilisi
